Burn time varies. Normally the candle burns from 5 to 7 days if it is burned continuously.
These 7-Day candles have a tendency to break while burning if the flame is too high or burns too hot. In 25 years I had only 3 candles do this. It only happened when the wax was nearly gone, and the flame was at the bottom of the glass. Just be cautious...use your best judgement.
Before you light your candle, you should clean the candle on the inside of the glass at the top by the wax with a little soap and water. You should clean the entire candle actually, but try and avoid the wick and the wax. This step ensures that your candle is in optimal condition, ready to burn safely.
Extinguishing a candle may seem straightforward, but using a two fingers or a snuffer to gently snuff out the flame is the safest way. Blowing the candle out will not only blow embers everywhere that can possibly ignite paper, clothing, etc. (it also eliminates energy that you had previously placed in your candle for your intention). NEVER pour water on a flame. It will act like a accelerant, making the candle turn into a torch.
With children and furry loved ones, keep the candles out of reach. Our candles have pretty interesting labels on them that may attract children to want to pick it up. Use protective barriers, and establish guidelines to prevent accidental mishaps. I would probably place my candle on a refrigerator if it came down to it.
Be sure that the candle wick is cut down to about an inch from the wax. A tall, violently flickering flame is cool and all, but it is not good for the energy in the candle, and definitely not good for keeping you safe. If this happens, and your flame begins to flicker violently and is taller than 1 to 2 inches...snuff out your flame, cut it down a little then relight it. This will not harm the energy in your candle.
